School Council

The School Council is pupil led but is overseen by Mrs Barnes. Each class elects a boy and a girl to be their class representatives. The Council members then elect a Chair, Vice Chair, Treasurer and Secretary at the beginning of the academic year and hold meetings each half term.

Class representatives have class Council meetings where problems can be aired and major concerns are then taken to the School Council. Members of the Council discuss and try to sort out problems or ideas for improvement. They will then be responsible for carrying out the ideas that have been agreed. For example last year's School Council wanted to improve the quiet area of the playground and to make a sensory garden. They were involved in the planning of the garden and the purchasing and planting of the plants.

There is a School Council noticeboard which includes photographs of the class representatives, agendas and minutes of meetings.

Members of the School Council write a newsletter called News To Fill Your Shoes and a copy of this is given to every pupil.  The latest edition can be seen below.
